At first I didn't realize that when I moved from NY that a test was even necessary. I went in there cold.

I did just fine overall on the written test and the road sign test, but one road sign screwed me up.

As I said, I didn't expect to have a test. So when they started showing me road signs (but no text in the signs - just the shape and color) it wasn't too bad. Red Octagon? Stop Sign. Yellow and Black triangle pointing right? Merge Right.

But then they showed me a blank white rectangle. I looked at it and simply had no idea. Then the lady testing me said "that's a speed limit sign sir." To which I said "well, you know, I would have known that if it said "55" in it. But blank white rectangles aren't JUST speed limit signs. They're used for other things too".

No big deal as I passed fine, but that one bit still bothers me a little to this day.
